I picked up these Revlon Colourburst Lip Butters in (you guessed it) one of my Boots-Trolley-Dashes. I’ve had the shades Sugar Frosting and Creme Brulee for a while now, but I just couldn’t resist adding a few more to my collection. I wanted some brighter shades for summer, so I chose Wild Watermelon and Sorbet.
I really like Revlon’s lipstick packaging; it’s very simple but stylish and I love the silver/metallic look. In my opinion, they look a lot more expensive than they actually are (a steal at £7.99). The coloured lids are not only pretty, but useful, as it means you don’t have to check the bottom to know what colour it is. I’m lazy enough to appreciate these small things!
They looked so gorgeous and perfect, it took me such a long time to work myself up to using them! Wild Watermelon is an orangey-red, while Sorbet is more of a hot pink shade. Although my mum thinks they look very similar, any keen eyed beauty blogger will tell you that, in fact, they are clearly completely different! (Okay, they’re quite similar.)
As you can see in the swatches, they’re quite sheer shades. I feel like they’re somewhere between a lip gloss and a lipsticks. For summer, however, this is sometimes exactly what I want. I tend to avoid heavier lipsticks in the heat, especially on holiday, but the bright colours and lighter finish of the Revlon Colourburst Lip Butters are perfect for summer. While they might not last as well as some other lipsticks, they do leave my lips feeling luscious and moisturized.
I’m in love with these lippies! Have you got any Colourburst Lip Butters? What are your favourite shades? (I want more!)
