I feel like I’m really late to the party getting this lipstick. I’ve read so many good things, and seen so many fab pictures, I just couldn’t resist picking on up. (Yes, it was another crazy Boots-Trolley-Dash! I need help…)
I think the idea with the Exclusive Red range is you work out which celebrity has the most similar colouring (in terms of hair and skin) to you, and then their lipstick will best compliment your skin tone. I think this is such a clever idea; but that didn’t stop me totally ignoring it and just buying ‘Blake’ because it was my favourite!
The best place to start is the packaging – and what amazing packaging it is. The black and gold looks really classy and so glamorous, and much more expensive than the fairly modest £6.99 price. It looks even better when you can see the red of the lipstick too! It looked so beautifully flawless in its bullet that it did take me a week or so to work myself up to using it, and I never need convincing to dig into a new product!
‘Blake’ is a pinkish, cherry red with blue undertones. The formula is gorgeously thick and creamy, so it glides on like a dream. The finish is matte, but not at all drying thanks to the jojoba oil – and I would know, I’ve got the worst dry lips. It’s super pigmented and really long-lasting. When I say long-lasting, I mean long-lasting – it survived pretty much intact through a whole meal! You can’t ask much more of a lipstick, in my opinion!
If your into lipstick, and especially your reds, you’d be mad not to pick this one up. It’s honestly one of the best drugstore lipsticks I’ve found; it’s just stunning. I’ll definitely be picking up another one next time I’m in Boots, probably ‘Liya’.
Have you tried any of the L’Oreal Colour Riche Exclusive Reds? What’s you favourite shade?

P.S Go on the official L’Oreal website, I’m slightly obsessed with the ‘Switch the Look’ slider at the bottom; so clever!
