I got this box as a free gift after a spa day with my best friend, and I thought I’d show you what was inside!
First is a mini, wooden-bristle hairbrush. It’s small and light, so fab for travel or general handbag use. Wooden bristles are gentle on the hair, help to distribute natural oils all the way down the hair shaft and the wide bristles help to reduce hair breakage while brushing.
This loofah is made from a ‘gourd-like plant’, according to the packaging! It actually has a very nice, natural smell to it. Its gentle, but still exfoliating. I love it and I don’t want to ruin it so I’ll probably save it for special occasions!
Next is a skincare bar (aka soap). This little package looks like its come straight out of a fancy hotel bathroom. It has a lovely fresh soapy smell, with a hint of aloe vera. It’s so nice I’ll probably just keep it as decoration.
As far as bath salts go, I usually just reach for plain sea salt because of its healing properties. Luckily, the main ingredient of these salts is sea salt, but they also contain coconut oil and Vitamin E, as well as olive, basil, grape, lemon and fig extracts. The scent is very strong with fruity notes. I haven’t actually used any yet, but I’m looking forward to a relaxing, fruity bath!
I nearly didn’t see this nail file/emery board. It’s very gritty doesn’t leave my nails with a nice finish like my (ancient) body shop file; but its travel size and neat packaging means it’ll be an easy addition to my handbag, in case of emergencies!
There’s also a standard vanilla lip balm stick with a hint of peppermint. Unfortunately, its a petroleum jelly based balm so I won’t be using it much; its no contest for my beeswax balm!
I’m a bit precious about my hair, and very particular about what I use on it. I do like the smell of this laurel leaf shampoo and conditioner, but because of their handy travel size (and my hair product fussiness!), I’m going to save them for a travel wash bag.
This body wash is also scented with laurel leaf, so its lucky I like the smell! It seems like a standard shower gel, and you can never have too much shower gel.
No prizes for guessing the fragrance of the body lotion! A little bit of this lotion goes a long way, and it leaves the skin smelling fresh and leafy – but its not a scent that would blend well with my perfume, so I won’t be using it daily. But, again, you can never have too much body lotion! Its a nice addition to my (huge) collection.
Overall, this box was pretty good for a free gift! I’m really excited about using a couple of things, but most of the products will be treats for my travelling wash bag next time I go on holiday!
