Face Mask Mini-Series: Week Five

It’s Week Five of the Face Mask Mini-Series, and I only have two masks left to review! When it came to choosing this week’s, I really want to use Week Four’s Black Seaweed Peel-Off Mask again as I loved it so much. But for reviewing purposes, I reached for Creamy Coconut instead. Of the face masks I have left, Creamy Coconut seemed like the best option for my grimey, hungover face as it claims to be a ‘hydrating vitality boost for tired skin’.

Montagne Jeunesse Creamy Coconut Face Mask

Main Ingredients

  • Kaolin: See Week One
  • Bentonite: Made of volcanic ash. Detoxifying and anti-inflammatory properties. Full of minerals like calcium, magnesium, silica, sodium, copper, iron, and potassium. Some antibiotic properties – helps to heal wounds and infections, and to control acne. Helps heal and rejuvinate skin tissue
  • Shea Butter: See Shea Butter Benefits
  • Cocoa Seed Butter: High in antioxidants. Anti-aging properties. High fatty acids content helps with deep skin hydration. Can help skin irritations/problems. Helps reduce appearance of stretch marks and scars.
  • Coconut Water: Cleanses and moisturizes by replenishing skin’s natural oils. High in naturally anti-viral, anti-bacterial and anti fungal fatty acids. Helps maintain skin’s suppleness and elasticity.

One of my main issues with last weeks mask was that it contained fewer natural ingredients than I’ve come to expect from Montagne Jeunesse. This weeks mask is absolutely packed with them! Of the 17 listed ingredients, only 3 are synthetic – and they come right at the very end of the list! I think this is brilliant, and exactly what a natural-beauty-junkie like me looks for in the ingredients list of face masks.

Now onto the mask itself…

When I opened the sachet for this mask, I could immediately smell the gorgeous coconut flavour. It almost smells like a cocktail! The formula itself is very creamy. It glides onto the skin really easily, leaving a lovely thick layer of product. Again, despite the price, Montagne Jeunesse are really generous with the amount of mask you get. There was more than enough to cover my whole face – so I applied it right down my neck and onto my chest!

Montagne Jeunesse Creamy Coconut Face Mask Selfie

I’m enjoying these face mask selfies way too much . . .

After using this face mask, my face feels beautifully soft and hydrated; and my neck feels even better! I think this mask would be fantastic for anyone with dry/dehydrated skin because it really is so moisturising. I’m not sure if my skin looks any less tired (I’m talking ‘waking up 7am, going to sleep 1am’ kind of tired!), and my T-zone is feeling a little icky and oily still.

I was really looking forward to trying this particular mask as I’m usually a big fan of any coconutty beauty product, but I can’t say I loved it. I think I’m lucky enough to have ‘normal’ skin, so maybe this extra-moisturising mask just isn’t what my skin needs. Having said that, if you do suffer with dry skin, I would say this mask is perfect. It smells and feels amazing, and my neck has never felt so soft! If you want a moisture boost, I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Creamy Coconut.
