I feel like all of my reviews are so positive at the moment – but honestly, there are just so many brilliant products out there! Benefit Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow is definitely one of them.
Benefit says its a ‘brightening liquid foundation. . .for a natural complexion you can believe in’. It claims to make your skin ‘flawless. . . luminous & healthy looking’; with the added benefits of sun protection, an oil free formula, light-diffusing properties and hydrating ingredients.
Firstly, the consistency is lovely; a creamy liquid that’s easily spreadable with your hands or with a brush. The coverage is light to medium, but still build-able if you want more. It covers most blemishes (occasionally I still need concealer for those extra bad ones), but lets your natural skin still shines through. The finish half matte/half dewy – thanks to the light diffusing particles – so your skin looks bright and glowing but not overly shiny and oily-looking. It also leaves your skin looking smooth and soft.
I love foundation in a pump-action bottle, because you’re able to get the last little scraps at the end (which is a challenge if you’ve ever got to the end of a glass bottle foundation!). With Hello Flawless, you think you’re near the end, but it seems to carry on for at least a week for me after that!
However, I would say that its probably not a good foundation for those with oily skin, because although oil-free, the formula is very liquid-y and can slide around a bit on your face. My skin is not particularly oily, so any sliding is easily solved with powder.
As usual with Benefit skin products, I don’t think the range of 9 colours is wide enough. I use one of the palest shades, Believe in me Ivory, but sometimes its a bit dark for me. However, it is SPF 25 PA+++, the highest standard of sun protection, which means that it provides fantastic protection all year round. It also claims to have ‘hydrating benefits’, I can’t decide if I think these work, but it definitely doesn’t dry out on the face.
Benefit is fab for freebies though – and the foundation always comes with a tester post of their Stay Flawless 15-Hour Primer. I love these little testers, there’s enough product for a couple of applications, and this primer is pretty good! It’s useful having little emergency sachets of primer around too!
I’ve been using this foundation for months, and it’s been really hard to beat. Even though I’ve changed to the L’Oreal Infallible 24H for my everyday routine, I’ve still got a bottle of Hello Flawless in case I ever want it again (and I’m sure I will!)
Do you use Hello Flawless? Or are you going to try it out? Let me know what you think!
